IOmeter

Not all electricity meters are in a convenient spot. They’re in the basement, a locked utility room, or a shared hallway several floors down — far from any Wi-Fi signal or power outlet. That’s the problem IOmeter was built to solve.

Reading Your Meter, Without the Cables

IOmeter is a two-piece system. The Core is a small reader that clips directly onto your meter’s infrared port. It runs on battery or USB-C, so you don’t need a power socket anywhere near the meter cabinet.

From there, it sends your consumption data wirelessly to the Bridge, which connects to your router over Wi-Fi and can be placed up to 50 meters away. There are no cables between the two, and you don’t need an electrician to install it.

Live Energy Data in Homey

Once the receiver is on your network, the IOmeter app for Homey automatically finds it. Your meter data flows into Homey Energy in real time, so you always have a live view of what your home is consuming.

That same data can trigger Homey Flows. For example, you can start charging your EV when consumption drops below a set threshold, or pause a high-draw appliance when you’re feeding energy back to the grid. Because IOmeter updates every three seconds, your automations stay accurate and responsive.

Compatiblity
