Lightkeeper

EARLY ACCESS - PLEASE READ FIRST. Lightkeeper is in early development. What is here works, it has been verified on real hardware, and everything it promises is covered by tests - but it is a 0.x app and nothing it stores is frozen yet, so an update can change or break a device you have already set up. A device may need Homey's Repair run on it afterwards, or in the worst case deleting and adding again. Settings can be renamed or dropped, and a setup screen can start asking something different. Migrations are written wherever they are possible and have carried every release so far, but they are not guaranteed in advance. Before 1.0 there are no major version bumps, so a breaking change arrives looking like any other update: the changelog shown with it is your warning, not the version number. Please read it before updating. Lightkeeper does four things to lights you have already paired. It turns a remote, switch or dial you already own into a controller for them: pick the lights, and say what each press, hold or turn should do. It puts lights on a schedule: when they come on, when they go off, on the days you choose, at a brightness and warmth you set. It follows the colour of the day, either from three parts of the day anchored to your own sunrise and sunset, or from a curve you draw yourself. And it sets brightness from how much light is in the room already, reading a light sensor you own — it shows you that sensor's own last week while you choose — or how high the sun is where you live. Light Remotes and schedules write the Homey Flows for you and keep them maintained, so you never have to open the Flow editor. Homey does not let an app create Flows on its own, so those two need a Personal API Key with Flow permissions; circadian, Colour Curve and Room-sensing Lights write to your lights directly and need no key. If you do build Flows, every device shows what it wants your lights to be right now — a brightness, a colour temperature, the colour, how light it is outside — and those are ordinary Homey tags you can drop into any card. There is also one card that sets a room from two Lightkeeper devices at once, taking the colour from one and the brightness from another in a single change, and a condition that asks a Room-sensing Light whether it is dark enough. Setting any of the five up is a short numbered path — one question a screen, then a review of everything before it saves. Everything runs on your Homey — no cloud, no telemetry.
