Introducing Device Groups
We’re excited to introduce Device Groups—a new feature in Homey that lets you group similar devices and control them all at once. Whether it’s lights, plugs, or window coverings, Device Groups help keep your smart home tidy and easy to manage.

Control multiple devices as one
In many smart homes, you’ll find multiple devices of the same type, like several filament lamps. Device Groups make it easier to manage them together, allowing you to organize your lights, smart plugs, and window coverings—including curtains and blinds—for unified control.
You can group devices if they’re located in the same Zone. For window coverings, grouping is supported when the devices share the same capabilities. Lights and smart plugs can also be grouped when the plug is set to function as a light.
Setting up Device Groups
Grouping your devices takes just a few taps. Go to the device’s settings, tap “Create Group,” select the others you want to include, and tap “Next.”

Give your group a name, pick an icon that fits, and tap “Finish” to complete the setup. Your Device Group will now appear as a device tile in its Zone, ready for quick access.

Once created, a Device Group behaves like any other device. You can control them directly from the Homey app or your Homey Dashboards, or include them in Flows and Advanced Flows. Give it a try, or visit our Knowledge Base to learn more.
Availability
Device Groups are available starting with Homey Pro v12.4.8 and the Homey app v9.3.0. This feature works with Homey Pro (Early 2023), Homey Pro mini, and Homey Cloud. Simply update the Homey app and ensure that you have the newest firmware.
