Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Homey Dashboards for all customers. Homey Dashboards offers everything you love about Homey, all in one place. Quickly create personalized dashboards with beautifully designed widgets, offering new ways to manage your smart home.
Personal & Intuitive
With Homey Dashboards, you can customize the Homey app with stylish widgets, giving you timely information and helpful control at a glance. You can even create multiple dashboards for different use cases, such as First Floor, Home Security, or Game Room.
Innovative Column-Based Design
Homey Dashboards work great on tablets and phones thanks to an innovative column-based design. Whether you track energy usage, monitor security devices, or adjust your lighting, you can always manage your smart home from a single, easy-to-navigate view.
In the Homey app, you can start making dashboards on your phone by going to More (…) → Dashboards. On tablets, you can tap Dashboards directly in the tab bar. Additionally, you can create a private homescreen dashboard, which is only accessible to you and saved on-device. To do so, scroll down on the homescreen and tap Customize.
Built-In Widgets
Homey includes over 25 unique built-in widgets you can add to any dashboard. These widgets cover the key Homey features you know and love, like Devices, Flows, Moods, Insights, Logic, and more.
App Widgets
You can expand your dashboard’s functionality by adding app widgets created by the Homey Developer Community. Visit the Homey App Store to explore the unique creations already available — there’s a dedicated filter for Homey apps that include widgets.
For developers, widget creation is where the fun begins. We’re very excited to see what you will do with Homey Dashboards. For instance, you can create beautiful widgets for task reminders, rain alerts, package delivery, plant nutrition, garbage collection, IMDb watchlists, or anything else that fits your Homey app. Begin by reading the documentation to create your first widget.
Availability
Homey Dashboards is now available for Homey Pro (Early 2023) and Homey Cloud (Free and Premium), starting with Homey Pro v12.1.0 and the Homey app v9.0.0. Owners of Homey Pro (2016 — 2019) can purchase Homey Dashboards for a one-time fee of €25. Ensure you update the app and check that you have the latest firmware.
Why do we ask for a one-time fee for older devices?
We firmly believe in updating what works great rather than pushing you to new hardware. By letting you add new features to your Homey for a small one-time fee, we can keep creating exciting updates. This way, all Homey users, even those with previous-generation devices, can continue to enjoy their hardware. Of course, Homey Pro (2016 — 2019) will always receive free regular and security updates.
