Motionblinds

Motionblinds is the smart shading brand from Coulisse, a Dutch company that makes window coverings for residential and commercial markets worldwide. Its motors cover roller blinds, cellular shades, pleated blinds, venetian blinds, curtains, vertical blinds, and roman blinds, in both battery-powered and wired versions.

Compatible Motionblinds motors connect to Homey over Matter (Thread or Wi-Fi) or via a Motionblinds Wi-Fi bridge with local API, without relying on Motionblinds cloud servers.

Motors for every window covering type

Motionblinds motors are designed to fit existing window coverings as well as new ones from the Coulisse range. Battery-powered models install without wiring and suit windows where running a cable is impractical. Wired motors are available for permanent installations, and Thread-enabled wired motors also extend the Thread mesh network as they are added.

All motors run quietly and support variable speed levels. A manual override lets you pull the blind by hand when needed. Once connected to Homey, you get percentage-based control, so you can set each blind to any position between open and closed.

Three ways to connect

Eve Motionblinds motors with built-in Matter and Thread connect directly to Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini via the built-in Thread Border Router. No additional bridge is needed.

If you have RF 433 MHz or Bluetooth motors, the Motionblinds Matter Wi-Fi Bridge adds Matter over Wi-Fi support. Setup requires only a QR code scan, with no Motionblinds account or registration. Compatible with Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server.

Motionblinds Wi-Fi bridges also support a local API, giving Homey direct control over the full RF 433 MHz and Bluetooth motor range without a cloud connection. Control is handled locally, so blinds respond quickly and keep working without internet.

Motionblinds and Homey

The Motionblinds app for Homey supports all three connection methods, with control running locally through Homey in each case, without routing through Motionblinds servers.

From Homey, you can open, close, or set the exact position of any connected blind. With Homey Flow, they become part of the rest of your home: open the blinds at sunrise, close them when the indoor temperature climbs past a set point, or add them to your leaving-home routine alongside lights and the thermostat.
