Homey is now Matter 1.5 certified
Homey has received Matter 1.5 certification from the Connectivity Standards Alliance. That means Homey’s Matter support is validated by the same body that certifies Apple, Google, Amazon, and other major platforms.
The certification applies to Homey Pro (2023 — 2026), Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server. Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini include a built-in Thread Border Router, so Matter-over-Thread devices connect right away. On Homey Self-Hosted Server, add them through the Homey Mobile App, with a Thread Border Router on your network.
Matter works both ways
Homey also helps bring your existing smart home devices into the Matter ecosystem. With the Matter Bridge app, supported devices connected to Homey can be shared with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant, even if they don’t natively support Matter.
