Stay informed about nearby thunderstorm activity with real-time lightning strike detection from the Blitzortung community network. The app tracks each strike's distance, bearing, and direction, detects storm patterns automatically, and includes a dashboard widget showing strikes on an interactive map. Use it to trigger smart home actions when lightning approaches — close shutters, turn on lights, or receive a notification on your phone.
This app is not a storm warning system. It is intended for informational and entertainment purposes only. Lightning data is provided by Blitzortung.org, a community-driven volunteer project, and is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.

Version 1.2.11 — Strike-physics map widget. - Each strike now renders as a tiny dot with an expanding sound-wave ring (real meters at 343 m/s, ~60 s lifetime, ~20 km audible reach) - Strike dots age red to orange to yellow to transparent over 30 minutes - Retention switched to a rolling 30-minute window (was a fixed 200-strike cap) - Map no longer re-pans on every refresh when the visible strikes are unchanged - Smaller, cleaner info-bar icon
