Hue Sync

Do you want to keep using the Hue app to set up your lights and other Hue devices? Then this app is for you. The Hue app is where you manage your Hue devices, and this app copies your changes to Homey. It does not replace the Philips Hue app for Homey. It needs that app: it must be installed and connected to your Hue bridge, and it still controls your lights. This app only makes sure that Homey has the same Hue devices as the Hue app, with the same names, in the right zones. When you add a lamp to your Hue bridge, it is added to Homey automatically, through the Philips Hue app for Homey, and it goes into the Homey zone that matches its Hue room. When you delete a device in the Hue app, it is removed from Homey. When you rename it, Homey gets the new name. When you move it to another room, it moves to the matching Homey zone within seconds. You never have to add a new lamp twice again. This app is based on Hue Device Location Sync, our other app, which only moves Hue devices to the right Homey zone. Setup is simple: the settings page guides you step by step, and after that you can forget about it. Auto-sync keeps Homey up to date by itself, within seconds, and does a full check every few hours. It syncs everything: new devices, deleted devices, new names and room changes. You still have full control on the settings page. Turn each kind of change on or off, choose a Homey zone for each Hue room, and see every change before it happens. When a new Hue room has no zone yet, you get one reminder (push notification) to update the mapping in the settings. When many devices disappear from the bridge at the same time, the app waits and asks you to check your bridge first. An activity log shows everything the app did, and a Flow card lets you start a sync from your own Flows. The app never changes anything on your Hue bridge, and it does not ask for full access to your Homey: it only uses an API key with the permissions it needs, and that key stays on your Homey.
