For its employed and external coaches, Equipe offers maximum flexibility to book client sessions when it fits their schedules.
Equipe relies on its internal platform to manage client bookings, gym studio reservations, and workout sessions. Employees use the platform to organize and coordinate clients and available facilities, ensuring smooth company operation.
From its web-based backend, the app receives real-time updates on session bookings, cancellations, and session start times. Having precise information is crucial. Details like remaining time before occupancy or last-minute bookings matter. This data opens up many possibilities to help manage the building’s facilities, significantly improving the gym’s coordination.
Equipe’s commitment to tailoring each client’s gym experience made it an ideal candidate for Homey’s flexibility and extensive set of integrations. Vic developed a custom Homey app for Equipe, turning internal data into actionable triggers and conditions.
Leveraging Homey
Equipe can personalize its clients’ workout experience using data from the app through Homey’s Advanced Flows. For instance, staff can control the studio’s air conditioning to ensure optimal temperature for each session. Homey turns off the AC when a studio is unoccupied to save energy, considering weather and occupancy forecasts. This feature will later be expanded to suit the client’s individual preferred temperature.
Homey also customizes lighting in each workout studio, enabling Equipe’s team to create the ideal atmosphere for different session types. They can easily set the lighting to cool white for cardio workouts through Homey. For clients engaged in intense training sessions, adjusting the lighting to a strong red is just a click away. Again, the team can personalize these settings to preconfigure studios to match clients’ preferences, providing a tailored training experience.
Additionally, playing the client’s favorite music on the room’s smart speakers enhances the experience. Homey allows staff to control the media and adjust the volume, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for an engaging workout.
Future plans: Smart locks and personal playlists
Vic’s ideas for Equipe and Homey don’t stop there. Next on the agenda is integration with the building’s smart locks, enabling seamless management through Homey and the Equipe app. This will ensure the property remains securely locked, preventing unauthorized access until workouts start.
When implemented, clients and coaches can easily unlock the property when it's time for a session. They will use a unique digital key, fingerprint, or passcode neatly integrated through the custom Equipe app. This system will allow clients to experience a perfectly tailored environment with optimal temperature and lighting to enhance their session.
Another idea is to personalize the atmosphere by letting clients link their Spotify playlists to their Equipe profile. As a result, their favorite music will kick in as soon as they arrive at Equipe, elevating the workout experience. These kinds of custom integrations allow Equipe to offer genuinely personalized experiences, making workouts even more engaging.
Easier expansion
Another upside is that the use of Homey allows for easier expansion. With Equipe opening its second location soon, they only need another Homey and their custom app to start building more tailor-made experiences. With conventional building management systems, this would be a long process involving electricians, lots of cables, and expensive software. Using Homey, this can be accomplished in less than a day.
