Camera streaming now in the Homey Web App and away from home
You can now watch your live camera streams at home and away in Homey, including in the Homey Web App, thanks to automatic WebRTC conversion.
From mobile to web and beyond
With recent updates, Homey lets you stream video from cameras supporting WebRTC, RTSP, RTMP, HLS, and DASH. Not all of these formats are natively supported by web browsers, which initially limited live streams to the Homey Mobile App when connected to your home network.
Homey now overcomes this by converting streams to WebRTC through a built-in proxy, so you can also watch them in the Homey Web App and even when you’re away from home.
Conversion happens automatically across Homey apps, with no need to adjust settings. Your live camera feeds simply work in more places, without extra setup.
Try it with your cameras
This new feature is available for Homey Pro (2023 — 2026), Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server. Make sure you’re on Homey Pro v12.12.0 or later, and the Homey Mobile App v9.7.1 or later.
