Samsung's newer appliances speak a local protocol on your own network, and this app speaks it back. Commands and readings go straight to the appliance's address on your LAN instead of out through SmartThings, so nothing about your home leaves it, and everything keeps working when the internet does not.
Air conditioners, induction cooktops, range hoods and refrigerators are supported, each verified against real hardware — a hood's fan and light, a fridge's temperature per compartment including a convertible one it tells you is currently cooling or freezing, an air conditioner's temperature, mode and comfort settings. All of it is available to a Flow: anything the appliance reports can be a condition, anything it accepts can be an action. Heat control is the one deliberate exception, read-only on cooking appliances, because an automation must never start a burner. Setup is installing it: the app issues its own client certificate on first run, then finds your appliances by searching the network. You can supply your own certificate instead, and the app will never replace it. Roughly 2022 and later models expose the local protocol; older ones keep no local port open and cannot be reached this way.

Applies several settings in one card. A setting the appliance already holds is not sent, so re-asserting the same state is quick; the rest are written and confirmed, re-reading the appliance before it starts and after every step so each decides from what the appliance holds now. Everything asked for is verified at the end, including the settings that were skipped. Set a field to "leave unchanged" to skip it, and temperature to 0 to skip that. The operating mode takes priority: each mode only honours some of the others — AI Comfort takes no fan speed or comfort mode, Fan takes no target temperature — and anything the chosen mode will not accept is left alone rather than written and silently ignored.

Version 1.0.7 — Kimchi refrigerators now report each compartment: its storage mode, the ripening status and time remaining, and how many racks it holds. Both layouts are covered — the one-door units and the three-drawer ones, which keep a separate mode per drawer. The mode can be set, and each compartment offers only the modes that compartment itself reports supporting, which is not the same list on every drawer. These units were already recognised as refrigerators, but until now almost nothing inside them could be read. Air conditioners with an edge light can now set its brightness and its colour temperature, not just switch it on and off. Both were confirmed by writing to the appliances here and reading the values back, and both offer only what the unit itself reports it supports. Air conditioners read and offer more comfort modes. Quiet in particular is on most boards and was simply missing, so a unit sitting in it showed nothing and could not be put back into it; Smart, the two motion modes and dry comfort are added alongside it. Three reliability fixes. Setting a comfort mode right after switching an air conditioner on used to fail the whole Flow card: the unit refuses for a few seconds while it starts up, and nothing it reports says so, so the card now waits and asks again instead of giving up on the first refusal. A command sent just as the appliance closed the connection was lost with nothing but an error; it is now retried once on a fresh connection, which is what reading has always done. And an appliance that goes off the network — switched off at the breaker, or Wi-Fi down — no longer keeps reporting that it is sending live updates; its settings and the matching Flow condition now say it is being polled, and it returns to live updates by itself once it is reachable again. Air conditioners now report an operation state code the appliance keeps beside its error and filter alarms, with its history graphed in Insights. It reads 0 whenever the unit is off and a number whenever it is running, with no exception across eight hours of samples from four units. It is not a fault: the appliance's own error channel reports no error throughout, which is why Samsung's own app calls the same unit healthy. What the number means is not settled yet, so the reading is named for what it is rather than for a guess at what it tracks.
