Your solar panels produce more than your house uses, and the surplus goes back to the grid for a fraction of what you pay for it. SolarBuffer puts that surplus into your water heater instead, so you shower on your own sunshine. A SolarBuffer sits between the wall socket and your electric water heater. It measures what your smart meter is doing and continuously adjusts the heater to match your surplus. Not on or off, but exactly the power that would otherwise be exported. A cloud passes, the heater follows. This app brings that to Homey. WHAT YOU SEE The status of your installation in one word, your grid power, and for every SolarBuffer what it is drawing and how much it used today. Have solar measurement or a home battery connected, then you see those too, including the battery level. WHAT YOU CAN DO Switch the regulation, schedules, anti-legionella and holiday mode. Turn each SolarBuffer on or off, set it by hand, or give it a boost. With a Zendure battery connected you can also set the battery mode, direction and power. All of it works in Flows, so you can combine your hot water with everything else in your home. GOOD TO KNOW Your SolarBuffer keeps working on its own, also when Homey is off. This app is the window onto it, not the brain behind it. Everything runs locally over your own network. No cloud, no account with us, nothing leaves your house. You need a SolarBuffer installation with the hub. Because the hub lives on your local network, this app works on Homey Pro and Homey Self-Hosted Server, not on Homey Cloud or a Homey Bridge.
