WebPanel turns the tablets and phones on your home network into wall panels for your home, served by your Homey Pro itself. Create a dashboard in the app's settings, open its link on a tablet, or set it as the start URL in Fully Kiosk Browser, and edit it right there on the tablet.
Made for tablets on the wall:
- Everything runs on your Homey Pro and your home network. The tablet needs no Homey account, no login and no internet connection; only the weather and news widgets fetch from the internet.
- One fixed link per dashboard, made for kiosk browsers: after a power cut the tablet opens straight into its own dashboard again.
- A light web page with live updates, so older wall tablets keep up.
- Edit on the tablet itself: drag and resize tiles, split a page into zones with grids of their own up to 16 x 16, and add several tiles at once from previews of how they will look.
- Tiles for lights (with brightness and white-tone moods), sockets, curtains, thermostats, sensors, locks, speakers, robot vacuums, presence and cameras, and Flow buttons. Electricity prices are coloured by today's level, from green to red.
- Widgets: clocks, weather, news (RSS), notes, camera images and web pages. Dark and light themes.
- Messages from Flows to every tablet at once: show a message, count down or ask a yes/no question on all tablets and browsers with a dashboard open, no device needed.
- One link per tablet: add &home=2 to a dashboard's link to make page 2 that tablet's home page; it goes back there after two minutes untouched.
One home, one way of working, together with ESPanel: WebPanel is made by the same developer as ESPanel (the app for the Guition ESP32-S3 wall display), and the two work alike, so a home can mix ESPanel displays and WebPanel tablets:
- Add each dashboard as a device and it gets the same Flow cards as an ESPanel display: show a message (with an icon and colour, over a camera image, or until tapped), count down, ask a yes/no question and wait for the answer, and the same "Someone answered yes/no" and "A countdown finished" triggers. One Flow can send the same message to both.
- Messages and questions look and behave the same: the same notification card, icons, colours, countdowns and full-screen image questions.
- The same Heimdall alarm integration: an alarm tile showing the mode, a keypad that arms and disarms with your Heimdall code (Heimdall checks the code and logs who did what), the dashboards locked to the keypad while armed, an arming timer, and keypads blocked after too many wrong codes.
- The same tile look, white-tone moods, electricity price colours and dark theme.
Safe by design: each dashboard's link contains a secret key. Without it the tablet can do nothing, and with it only the devices and Flows on that dashboard can be used. Editing a dashboard can also require a PIN. If a link gets out, give the dashboard a new key in the app's settings and the old link stops working. WebPanel only answers devices on your home network; do not forward its port from your router.
