Let every badge and fingerprint at your door start a Flow
Turn your Suprema BioStar 2 access control system into a source of Homey Flows. When someone badges in, is refused at a door or presents a fingerprint nobody recognises, a Flow can switch on the hall lights, disarm a zone, send a notification or log the visit, with the person, reader and time available as tags. A Flow can also release a door. Events arrive the moment the server produces them, directly over your local network: no cloud service, no polling and no extra computer in between.
You need a BioStar 2 server running release 2.9.12.31 or newer that Homey can reach on your network, and a BioStar 2 account with the Monitoring permission (at Edit level to open doors). This is an unofficial community app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Suprema Inc.

Triggers when BioStar 2 refuses access at a reader, usually because the person has no permission for that door or is outside their access schedule. Pick a reader to trigger only for that one, or leave it on 'Any reader'. The user tags are filled in when BioStar 2 recognised the person, and read 'N/A' when it did not.

Authentication succeeded at Reader
Triggers when a person is successfully identified or verified at a BioStar 2 reader and access is granted. Pick a reader to trigger only for that one, or leave it on 'Any reader' for all of them. Events without an identified user are discarded for security, so the user tags are always filled in.

BioStar 2 event received at Reader
Triggers on every BioStar 2 event this app forwards, whatever the outcome. Use the Event Type tag to tell them apart: 'success' (identified and granted access), 'access_denied' (refused at the reader) or 'identification_fail' (person not recognised). Pick a reader to trigger only for that one, or leave it on 'Any reader'. Background events such as door lock and unlock are filtered out and never trigger this card.

Identification failed at Reader
Triggers when a reader could not identify the person at all, for example an unknown fingerprint, an unrecognised card or an unknown face. Pick a reader to trigger only for that one, or leave it on 'Any reader'. BioStar 2 has no user to report, so only the device, event name and timestamp are available as tags.

Checks the department of the person in the event that started this Flow, as set on their BioStar 2 user profile. Matching ignores upper and lower case and surrounding spaces, but the full department name must match. Only works in Flows started by a BioStar 2 trigger card that carries user information; elsewhere it is always false.

Checks whether the event that started this Flow came from the chosen reader, also after the reader is renamed in BioStar 2. Only works in Flows started by a BioStar 2 trigger card; elsewhere it is always false.

BioStar 2 connection is online
Checks whether the app currently has a live connection to the BioStar 2 server and is receiving events. Use it to guard Flows that depend on live access events. It is only checked when the Flow runs, so it cannot notice a dropped connection by itself; the app sends a Homey notification for that when the connection stays down for two minutes.

Checks the BioStar 2 user group of the person in the event that started this Flow. Matching ignores upper and lower case and surrounding spaces, but the full group name must match. Only works in Flows started by a BioStar 2 trigger card that carries user information; elsewhere it is always false.

Open door Door
Momentarily releases a door in BioStar 2, the same as pressing Open Door in the BioStar 2 console. The account configured in this app needs the Monitoring permission at Edit level in BioStar 2, otherwise the card fails with a permission error.

Force reconnect to BioStar 2
Drops the current BioStar 2 session and reconnects: the app logs in again, reopens the connection and re-subscribes to the event stream. Handy after a BioStar 2 server restart, although the app already reconnects on its own.
