Sonos Announcements
An announcement was played
Sonos Announcements
Say it at home, from wherever you happen to be.
Your iPhone talks straight to your Sonos speakers over your own Wi-Fi, and your own voice comes out of the ones you pick. What it cannot do on its own is reach them when you are not home. The problem is not the command but the sound: the speaker fetches the recording from the phone itself, and a phone in another town is not something a speaker can reach.
Your Homey is in the house, so it can hold the recording ready while the speaker fetches it. Install this app, open the phone app once while you are home, and the two find each other on their own. There is nothing to type and nothing to sign in to. No Sonos account is needed, the recording never rests anywhere on the internet, and it is dropped from memory again as soon as it has played. Requires Homey Pro and the Sonos Announcements app for iPhone or Mac.

When...
Runs after an announcement has gone out. The 'heard' tag says whether a speaker actually fetched the sound — a speaker can accept an announcement and still play nothing.
Sonos Announcements
An announcement could not be played
Runs when an announcement did not come out of any speaker.
Sonos Announcements
The speakers became unreachable
Runs once when the speakers stop answering. Worth knowing before you are away from home and need them.
Sonos Announcements
The speakers became reachable again
Runs once when the speakers answer again after having been away.
And...
Sonos Announcements
An announcement was played in the last minutes minutes

Sonos Announcements
The speakers are reachable
True when the speakers answered the last time they were checked. They are checked every five minutes.

What’s new
Version 1.1.9 — More reliable. The app no longer stops when the network drops for a moment, and it finds the speakers even if the one it remembered has moved to a new address.
Sonos Announcements
Sonos Announcements is not compatible with the selected Homey.
Sonos Announcements will install on Homey shortly.
