Eliza is a mock Rogerian psychotherapist.
ELIZA is a natural language conversation program described by Joseph Weizenbaum in January 1966. It features the dialog between a human user and a computer program representing a mock Rogerian psychotherapist. The original program was implemented on the IBM 7094 of the Project MAC time-sharing system at MIT and was written in MAD-SLIP. For more information visit: ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA )
For a conversation example given by Joseph Weizenbaum in his article see the Eliza Test page. ( http://www.masswerk.at/elizabot/eliza_test.html )
This is an implementation based on the promised based node.js module: ( https://github.com/natelewis/eliza-as-promised )
All credits for Eliza go to Joseph Weizenbaum (8 January 1923 – 5 March 2008), Credits for the eliza-as-promised module to Nate Lewis. Homey App by Geurt Dijker.
The app
The Eliza App has no devices or flowcards, it just facilitates a chat when you ask for it (call her Eliza, doctor, psychotherapist, etc). When she talks keep answering within 75 seconds (with 3 retry’s if you wait to long), else she will end your session in favour of other patients.
How to use the App
Ask Home to talk to Eliza:
[OK Homey] Can I talk to Eliza
start chatting to Eliza
When you are finished for your sessinon just say: Bye
The illusion of intelligence of Eliza works best if you limit your conversation to talking about yourself and your life.
Privacy
Eliza is very discreet and doesn’t memorize or log anything you say. But be aware making use of internet implies your message is traveling thru the cloud. Although all companies care about your privacy it could be your conversation is logged somewhere.
The use of Eliza is probably not covered by your health care insurance but if you insist we can speak and drink something on one of the Homey by Athom Community events.
This app is for Educational Purposes Only.
