P1 is the name of a port on most smart meters installed in Europe. It looks like an old telephone connector (RJ12) but is used to read the smart meter’s energy statistics.
If your smart meter has a P1 port, then most likely! Please refer to this article to learn more about compatible meters.

Yes, the Homey Energy Dongle works exclusively with Homey Pro (Early 2023) and Homey Cloud. If you don’t have either yet, you can always create a free Homey Cloud account to use the Homey Energy Dongle.
The Homey Energy Dongle ships to the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Hungary, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Lithuania and Switzerland.
Depending on your smart meter, you may need to provide external power to the Homey Energy Dongle’s USB-C port.
As a rule of thumb, DSMR5 or ESMR5 meters provide enough power for the Homey Energy Dongle to work without external power. DSMR4 and DSMR2 meters do not provide enough power, so you need to connect the USB-C to USB-A cable to an external power adapter.

When your smart meter does not provide enough power, you can power the device using the Homey Energy Dongle’s USB-C port.
Additionally, you can connect the USB-C port to a computer to read the raw data telegrams that the smart meter writes to the serial console.
The Homey Energy Dongle has onboard Wi-Fi 6 802.11b/g/n/ax and Bluetooth 5 LE, both on the wireless 2.4 GHz band.
If you connect your smart meter to your gas meter, the Homey Energy Dongle can also read your gas usage.
If your smart meter with the P1 port is also connected to your water meter, the Homey Energy Dongle can also read your water usage.
